I grew up on a golf course which my father built in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1959. I have been connected to golf in one way or another ever since.

I batted behind the biggest, strongest kid on my little league baseball team. They walked him all season long to pitch to me, and I usually struck out. In the July 4 All Star game they walked him to load the bases and I hit a grand slam home run. I still have the article from the local paper.
My grandfather built the first riding triplex greens mower. I still have one at our warehouse.
Helping customers meet the challenges of managing their golf courses, getting to know my customers on a personal level. I treasure the fact that some of my best friends have been customers for over 30 years.
I strive to help them provide the best playing surfaces possible for their customers and members.
I have been on the sales side of the Turf industry for 24 years.
Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Business Administration from Oakland University.
Married to Carolyn, whom I met in college. We have 4 children, including identical twin boys.
Exercising (my goal is 300+ days per year), reading (when I get the time), following college and pro sports teams nationally and in our state (even the Lions), word games and other brain teasers (exercise for the mind). I’m hoping golf will be more appealing when I’m not around it so much!
My first job out of college was as an editor of a weekly newspaper.
I am one of the owners of a company that provides software to the turf industry and am in the process of setting up a new company that will provide a revolutionary new aeration service and equipment to several states in the Midwest.
It’s hard to pick just one thing. First, I really enjoy the people. I think people in the turfgrass industry are some of the most likeable, down-to-earth people you could ever meet. Also, the satisfaction that comes when you feel like you’ve truly helped someone out … when they get the results that they want from a recommendation or product that you supplied … is a great part of my job.
I hope to be a trusted and valued resource to my customers.
